Atlanta, Ga.- Offering aspiring southern artists the opportunity to showcase their talents for
major label A&Rs, magazine editors and celebrity bloggers in New York City, Atlanta-based
public relations firm DGPR gears up for its Underground Artist Railroad tour. The journey
begins in Atlanta when 10 artists board Amtrak trains for a 17-hour trek to the Big Apple.
Themed after Harriet Tubman’s historic Underground Railroad system where she bravely led
countless slaves to freedom in the North, the Underground Artist Railroad seeks to liberate
minds, educate artists on the music industry and make an undeniable mark in history via an
artist showcase in NYC.
â€oeI crafted the Underground Artist Railroad after Harriet Tubman because she made trips into
realms of the unknown,― says DGPR,Inc president Don â€oeGhotti― Pitts II.
Much like the cost of freedom in the days of old, there is definitely price to pay in search of
dreams but the case is less costly today. Following in the footsteps of courageous freedom
fighter also known as â€oeMoses of her people,― Pitts hopes he can make his undeniable mark in
not only music and entertainment but African-American history.
â€oeMost of these artists would never go to New York under any other circumstances,― Pitts
explains. â€oeOf course, our journey will be nowhere as dangerous what she did but we intend to
keep her spirit alive by paying homage to her.―
Major label recording artists and other industry tastemakers will board the train at various
cities along the way to share insight into the music industry and answer questions. After
arriving in New York, artists will perform in a showcase for major label A&Rs, magazine
editors and celebrity bloggers.
Launching the company earlier this year with offices in New York and Atlanta with operatives
across the country, Don Ghotti Public Relations firm was created by Pitts as an inexpensive
resource for aspiring artists. â€oeI started this company and orchestrate events like this because
I want to empower people,― says Pitts. â€oeI got tired of seeing people ripped off so now I am doing something about it.―
