In Local Music News…
The Wiseguys are officially back, and have teamed with a new frontman. Bassist Randy Ketner and drummer Jeff Van Clief stepped away from live performance after the passing of their friend, singer, guitarist and band ringleader Eric Vincent “Fat Vinny†Kelly last year. But after a chance jam session with singer/guitarist Brian Cupples three months ago, the three musicians have decided to carry on in a new incarnation of the band, called Slim Dizzy & the Wiseguys (with Brian performing under the alias “Slim Dizzyâ€). The trio made the announcement and officially debuted last Sunday during a blues jam session with The Hawks at 30 Something in Altoona.
Guitarist Jody Earnest has returned to the ranks of Altoona hard rockers I-Enemy after a brief absence.
Altoona’s Acalasia has announced their new drummer. After a 6-month search, Eric Wertz has taken over the drumming position vacated last year by Cory Aboud.
